Global Outreach
Global Christmas, 2009Every December, it’s our privilege to take a few weeks and place special emphasis on what God is doing around the world through our global strategic partnerships. We call this season “Global Christmas” – a reminder to look beyond ourselves and the enjoyment of decorating trees and exchanging gifts - to embrace hurting people who are in need of the good news of Christmas: that God put on human flesh, lived a perfect life, died for sinners, and rose from the dead in order to save for Himself a people for all eternity.
From Our Own Backyard to The World Over the last month, we’ve been able to share the love of Jesus and the joy of Christmas with the hurting and needy in our own backyard through our local strategic partnerships – from food to clothing to toys – all tangible expressions of the good news of Christ’s birth. And on the weekend of December 19-20, we will take our annual Global Offering which supports the work of our global strategic partnerships around the world. Your generosity is helping to train leaders, feed children, build churches, drill wells and much more as God directs the stewardship of these funds through our strategic partnerships. From the local food bank in Nashville to the seminary library growing in Nigeria, Fellowship is fulfilling Christ’s words in Acts 1:8–to be His witnesses (our paraphrase) “From our own backyard to the world."
