Leadership for the Church
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and
teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of
Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son
of God to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of
Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-13)
A common and tragic reality of nearly every disadvantaged culture is a near-total
lack of spiritually-mature, biblically-grounded leadership for the church.
Consequently, the church languishes under lifeless, and sometimes even
abusive and heretical teaching, cultural irrelevance and spiritual ineffectiveness.
In this context, it becomes painfully obvious that "As the leaders go, so goes the
church." Therefore, we believe the greatest fundamental need of the church in
the coming years is to prepare and launch a significant number of biblically-
grounded and spiritually-gifted leaders. That's why leadership development for
the church is our number one global priority.
